Lewis County Public Works will try to increase employment interest by offering candy LEWIS COUNTY, WA - In a surprise move, Lewis County Public Works will try increasing employment interest by offering candy.

What's not surprising is that LCPW has had a very tough time retaining employees. with very low starting wages and very high health insurance premiums, it's been hard to convince not only current employees to stay, but new applicants to accept the job, until now.

An unnamed source told Lewis County Talks that county representatives have come up with a plan to lure in the talent by offering candy, stating, "If they're dumb enough to take the candy, we know we got someone dumb enough to accept a position here!"

Currently, it costs an employee with a family $3.61/ hr of wages to provide his/her family with health insurance provided by the county. And if that's not bad enough, the starting wage for a Public Works employee is $20.93/hr, bringing the starting wages for a family, down to poverty level wages at $17.32/hr.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures", said a representative from the county, "This might not be the most practical plan, but dammit, it's worth a shot!"
