City of Napavine to add 16 more fuel stations to Exit 72, because why not? NAPAVINE,WA - In a stunning turn of events this week, Napavine agreed to add 16 more fuel stations just off Interstate 5 at Exit 72. Currently Napavine, with a population of just 1,800 people, has a Loves Travel Station, a Chevron, Shell, an Arco, and a Travel-Centers of America currently in construction.

When asked why Napavine needed more fuel stations than the 5 that already exist, Mayor Shawn O'Neill responded, “Well, this day in age, it just doesn't seem right to exclude the other brands. It's important to this town to make all fuel stations feel welcome here. And I don't just speak for myself, I speak for the community.” He then added, “I mean, just look at all the pretty colors of the signs! It'll be the Las Vegas strip of gas stations!”

According to a representative from Community Development, the city will utilize the entire length of Rush Road and what's left of Hamilton Rd to accommodate the incoming fuel stations.

“Look. We gotta stay positive here”, O'Neill added. “People want choices, and adding these fuel stations will provide those choices. And, just so we're clear, this has nothing to do with taxes or greed. It's for the people.”

While traffic revisions are in dire need to improve the flow of traffic in the area's current status, O'Neill was asked about how this will impact traffic for the community. “I was hoping you'd ask, and I'm super stoked to tell you that we came up with a solution! Stoplights baby!” said O'Neill.

We pressed O'Neill about the stoplights to further explain how they would help the impacted traffic on Rush Rd, adding that the lights would just delay the public from getting to their destination.

“Yes, the lights would add time to everyone's drive. Getting from the top of the hill to the bottom, and vice-versa, would extend your drive 15-20 minutes, but hey! Lets look on the bright side. You'll have some pretty lights to look at while you're at the stoplights!” He added.

While that didn't in anyway answer our last question, we decided to shake hands and agree on one thing. We all agreed that the fuel station lights and traffic lights have very pretty colors.
